GADCC and DPG meetings at Heart of Georgia Technical School in Dublin on August 22, 2009

The Georgia Association of Democratic County Chairs and the Democratic Party of Georgia both held meetings at Heart of Georgia Technical School in Dublin on August 22, 2009. Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin was honored by GADCC.

Members of the Georgia Federation of Democratic Women were well represented at both meetings. I hesitate to list them because I know I will miss some, but here goes: Fenika Miller, Kristina Simms, Cheryl Williams, Barbara Campbell, Arvilla Jennings, Stephanie Miller, RuthE Levy, Kimberlyn Carter, Carlotta Harrell, Senator Gail Buckner. Mingling in the crowd were a number of gubernatorial candidates, including
Rep. Dubose Porter, General David Poythress, Carl Camon, Attny Gen. Thurbert Baker, and former Governor Roy Barnes. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves circulating in the midst of THAT many Democrats. The mood was optimistic and the atmosphere jovial as old friends spotted each other in the crowd. Lots of hugs and handshakes going on !! The only improvement needed was a better turn out by DPG members so some bylaws issues could have been voted on that day instead of waiting until October 3.
