GFDW Fall meeting in Cobb County was a big success!

Thanks to Cobb County Democratic Women -- Beverly McMurray, Connie Taylor, and all the other super ladies from Cobb --- for arranging an excellent state meeting on Saturday, Nov. 8. Because of the Democratic victory on Nov. 4, spirits were high.
"Uncle Sam" was standing on a nearby street corner waving us in the right direction.
And when we arrived at the South Cobb Community Center, who did we see but Lady Liberty herself standing by the entrance to greet us! Keynote speaker Michael Thurmond, who heads the Ga. Department of Labor, inspired us with his vision for Democrats in Georgia. In line with the theme, "America the Blue-tiful," Mr. Thurmond told us that HIS Georgia was BLUE---and all of us who gathered there for the Fall State Meeting of GFDW shared his enthusiasm. A great lunch was served, and other features of the event were presentation of new officers, True Blue Awards, a silent auction, and drawing for beautiful baskets and for a hand-made necklace.
Full details will be sent out in the minutes, and a separate post regarding the new officers will be placed on the Grapevine after the Spring 2009 meeting Meanwhile --- enjoy a sampling of photos from the gala event.
