Other items on the agenda include presentation by the nominating committee of the proposed slate of officers for the Spring 2009 election, general business, induction of honored Democrats into the “True Blue Circle” and awarding of the Maxine Goldstein and Jackie Saylor Awards.

This is a great opportunity to network, socialize, and make plans for the exciting political events that lie before us. Decorated gift baskets will be given as door prizes! There will also be a silent auction and Democratic items for sale; so, bring “spending cash”!

“Strengthening all facets of the Democratic Party and Women’s participation in it.”

Directions

Address of the South Cobb Community Center is 620 Lions Club Drive, Mableton GA 30126.

From whatever direction you are coming toward Atlanta, get on I-285 and come around to the west side. Take exit 12, Bankhead Highway (between I-20 exit 10 and Bolton Road exit 13). [PLEASE NOTE THAT BANKHEAD HWY IS NOW CALLED HOLLOWELL PKY. The name has changed. Even so, the name change may not be not yet be in place on Mapquest and other "trip" sites.]
Go toward the west away from Atlanta. After the street crosses the Chattahoochee River (from Fulton into Cobb County), the street will change names from Bankhead Highway [now HOLLOWELL PKWY] to Veteran’s Memorial Highway. A little over 5 miles after exiting I-285, you will arrive at Lions Club Drive/Moss Drive on the right. There may be a sign there for “Lions Park”. Turn right and the Community Center will be on your left in about a block. We are working on having “Uncle Sam” standing on Veteran’s Memorial Drive so that you don’t miss the turn. We are also working on having the “Statue of Liberty” standing at the entrance to the Community Center to welcome everyone to the parking lot and answer questions.
