A Report on Bill Clinton's visit to Macon 1-21-08--Report by Beth Perera

GRRRREAT event today!
Bill Clinton was greeted by a crowd of, I don't know how many... they estimated 2-3,000. Tommy Irvin introduced Clinton, and the crowd went wild! President Clinton spoke from the heart about Hillary, and what her leadership would mean to this country and to the world. He outlined her Health Care Plan, he spoke on her positions on immigration, on NCLB, on Iraq, Darfur, Choice... and then he took questions from the audience for over two hours! Every time he'd say "last question, I really have to leave," he'd spend another 30 minutes going into minute detail about an issue. Such an incredible speaker and SUCH an intelligent man. It was truly and honor to be in his presence.
Attending from Houston County were Beth Perera, President of the Middle GA Democratic Women's Club, her daughter Rachel Hutchinson, her friend Cheryl Anagnost (of Perry), Bob and Kathy Bird (Chair of Houston County Democrats), Sadie Holt, Allen Trumbull, Richard Nadler, and Scott Taylor... who got to meet President Clinton and speak with him in a small group for about 30 minutes prior to the public event! Congressional candidate Robert Nowak from Macon was there, Lynn Farmer from the Bibb County Board of Education, and of course, Sheriff Jerry Modena and his wife Mary of Bibb County. There were hundreds of students... from Mercer, Macon State, Fort Valley State, UGA, Valdosta State, Middle GA Technical College, and other campuses. Hillary's campaign, as Bill elaborated, is so much about giving a bright future back to the young people of America.
